Is it a Honey Bee, a wasp, yellow jacket or a bumble bee

Honey Bees (Apis Mellifera and Apis Cerana) are compact, dull in colour, with stripes of copper/brown and black. There can be as many as 60,000 bees in a colony. Honey bees are vegetarian.

Wasps and Hornets, there are many varieties of wasps. Wasps are carnivorous or omnivorous. Wasps have smooth bodies and can be shiny. They have very narrow waists.

Yellow Jacket (Genera Vespula / Dolchovespula), most are black and yellow, some are black and white. They are a similar size to the Honey Bee but can be identified by there distinct markings. Yellow Jackets are important predators of pest insects

 Bumble Bees (Bombus Polaris) are larger than Honey Bees and are a lot more fluffy. Like Honey Bees, Bumble bees are excellent pollinators. Bumble bees live in colonies of up to 60
